Lili Sandu is arguably Romanian's finest female singer and actress. She was born on the 28th of May 1979, in Tulcea, Romania. She attended and graduated from the University of George Enescu in Bucharest, Romania, with a Degree in Music in 1998. She also attended and graduated from the University Spiru Haret with a Degree in Journalism. In January 2005, Lili launched her solo carear under the name "Lil' Lee" and released a single entitled "Aproape de tine" ("Close By You"). The song was a hit and a staple on MTV Romania. In February of the same year she debuted as an actress in a secondary role as Casandra from the 1 Romanian Soap Opera "Numai iubirea" ("Only Friends") on the ACASA Romanian Network. By now she was using her real name "Lili Sandu." Later that year she played the role of a protagonist, Rebeca Alecu, in the series "Pacatele Evei" ("Original Sin") on the same network. The theme song to "Pacatele Evei" was recorded by Lili and Romania's best male vocalist Razvan Fodor and became an immediate radio and music hit in Romania for 2006. In October 2007 Lili recorded and released the video "Jump" for CatMusic Entertainment. "Jump" became a Romanian Top 100 hit, and by December 2007 Lili released her first CD album entitled Under my soul. The album became a commercial success, prompting Lili to tour throughout Romania. Other songs that gained attention are "The crazy things you do," "All that you wanted," "It's the right time," and "You." In the summer of 2008, Lili was given a major role as a protagonist in the novela Doctori de mame In August of 2008, Lili was featured on Callatis 2008 and debuted her latest video single release "Hot sound maker." Meanwhile, on ProTV she starred as a celebrity dancer on the show Dansez pentru tine, a Romanian version of Dancing with the Stars. Due to an injury during one of the rehearsals, Lili was forced to step aside from dancing but continued to provide moral support for her dance partner. Her popularity as an interpreter of song has lead to her latest video hit "LEE LEE" on Gala Records in 2009. The video to the song received heavy rotation on Romania TV throughout the year. 2010 looks bright for Lili as she has set her sights on Hollywood.
